I have come here on my own

Without a map

Without directions.

I wandered in the wilderness, aimless and alone.

I tripped and I stumbled

Made many mistakes on this road.

This journey has been arduous.

Moreover, it is not done!

I am still walking and I am doing it on my own.

I have learned a multitude of lessons.

A wealth of wisdom in my wallet.

A million experiences in my heart;

They are my compass!

I have bled because of my foolishness,

From my veins and my eyes.

Nevertheless, I am proud of my progress

Since I have done it on my own.

I know where I stand

Because a lifetime has led me here.

I understand who I am

Because a lifetime is defining me.

I am not afraid to stand

Because fear does not destroy me.

I have walked this life my way

And I write my own story.

To the end, I am who I will be,

And that is what I strive for…

Everyday!
